Merriam Webster says,
Predict - to declare or indicate in advance.
Do we not declare or indicate pending direction or price in advance?
Predict - to foretell on the basis of observation, experience or scientific reason.
Do we not foretell direction or price, based on observation, experience or scientific reason?
I think we all predict. Some better than others. Some based on better observations than others, some based on better scientific reason than others. But we are all predicting WHERE the market will be in ADVANCE.
If you are not trying to predict to the best of your ability, through experience and observation, then you are GAMBLING.
Gambling - To bet on an uncertain outcome.
Hmm?
I guess we all gamble when we predict.
