6.52 Update Problem

I downloaded the 6.52 MetaStock EOD patch (MSW652.EXE, 4.72MB) and ran it,
but encountered a problem.

At 37% Overall completion, when it said it was "Processing Mswin\MSWIN.EXE",
the update program just terminates, and appears not to have accomplished
anything.

Do any of you have a suggestion as to what may be the problem?

The only thing I can think of is that I replaced the motherboard on this
machine, and doubled the memory, a few months back.

Do you think I should just re-install.  I fear losing my set-up going that
route, and hope the problem is something else I'm overlooking.
