patterns is the head and shoulders top or bottom <SPAN

buys the low or shorts the high. It is a reversal pattern, which takes 3 drives
in the direction of the trend to complete. For a head & shoulders bottom,
the first drive down continues the already established trend. A reaction up
fr<SPAN class=250500708-13051999><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2><FONT

shoulder. Following the reaction against the trend, a second drive down pushes
to new lows which again is followed by a reaction up to form the head. This is
followed by a third drive down, which stops short of surpassing the low of the
head. A rally up from the low of the third drive down forms the right shoulder.
A line drawn from the left shoulder reaction high to the head reaction high is
called the neckline. A reversal up from the right shoulder through the neckline
is considered a buy signal. It is the third rally attempt from a higher low
which finally reverses the downside momentum. <BR><BR>Head and Shoulders
patterns come in all shapes and sizes. There is no "perfect" pattern. It may
look perfect because the left side may look the same as the right with a
horizontal neckline. This ideal pattern though does not necessarily provide the
best trading opportunity. Patterns are very much like trees. We can all<SPAN

color=#000000>recognize</FONT></FONT></SPAN> the difference between an oak tree
and a pine tree. Each of them though come is various shapes and sizes.<BR><BR>It
is typical to find necklines sloping down for bottoms and sloping up for H&S
tops. Many times the neckline is horizontal and sometimes it slopes up for a
H&S bottom and down for a H&S top.<BR><BR>The following symbols have
links to charts showing current examples of Head & Shoulders formations. All
of these examples generated signals by breaking the neckline within the last 5
days.<BR><BR>The following stocks formed H&S bottoms after extended
declines. LTR,
HTCH,

href="http://www.kr.thetrellis.net/setups/5.12.99/nvda.jpg">NVDA</A>.<BR><BR>H&S
bottom formations can also be found within reactions to larger uptrends. These
are found in <A

included are two H&S top formations. <A
href="http://www.kr.thetrellis.net/setups/5.12.99/gps.jpg">GPS</A> gaped right
through the neckline four days ago and has gone sideways since. <A
href="http://www.kr.thetrellis.net/setups/5.12.99/bebe.jpg">BEBE</A> has a down
sloping neckline which broke 3 days ago on a closing basis and has had some huge
volume the last 2 days. Both of these formations look like there is more room to
move in the direction of the trendline break as is the case with the others as
will.<BR><BR>All of these patterns were, of course, found with the tools in
PatternSmasher. I look at PatternSmasher as my assistant. I can give it
instructions to look for all kinds of formations. It searches and brings them to
my attention. Then it is up to me to use my experience to select the best
looking ones for trading. If you are looking for your assistant to tell you
exactly what to do then PatternSmasher is not for you. But if you want some
objective help and are willing to look through hundreds of formations to hone in
on your chart reading skills, then PatternSmasher is an ideal assistant. You can
have this highly trained assistant for a one time introductory cost of only
$1895.<BR><BR>Profitable trading,<BR><BR>Ed
