ribau,
Your disgruntlement with what would at first glance seem like a price
gouging increase is understandable. I will be paying the increased
prices as well. I just spent all weekend and about $150.00 erecting a
new post to raise my dish about 10 feet so it could see the satellite.
However perhaps I can assuage your irritation somewhat.

Prior posts have indicated that if you are getting all your symbols OK
now with the TurboComm card you can expect no degradation from the
present. From what I understand you do indeed get a receiver with a
working ethernet port. DTN has been unsuccessful in getting Omega to
modify the global server to accept the data from the TCP/IP ethernet
connection as does the Esignal TS2000i global server. Chameleon will
work with the ethernet port, but of course that is no consolation to
us.
I was relieved that my current hardware and software was completely
oblivious to the change of receiver. The only change I made was
changing the DTN receiver, I didn't even change the cable between
them.

Leasing or buying a higher bandwidth than what they had before in
order to carry the Level II and options data when the exchanges go
decimal and have the result be cheaper for them I thinks gives them
far greater negotiating skills than DTN management probably deserves.
They could just drop options data, but I don't know what other choices
they had, given that their current satellite couldn't handle the
increased amount of data expected with decimalization.
So far I like the new box better since I get more up to date bid/ask
prices for options than before, using Esignal as a control. I haven't
tried myself yet, but will be eager to find out if the ethernet output
of the new box will drive Chameleon on a separate computer while still
powering TS2000i on the present one. If so, this would make for a
very nice improvement, even if clearly unintended by DTN. I like
running Esignal's quote monitor along side TS2000i since getting
option chain data on the fly is so much easier than in TS.
I have no relationship whatsoever with DTN, other than as a user. It
just seemed to me that you might not be alone in feeling put upon by
DTN because of the change. I have never beat my head against a wall,
but I hear that it feels just wonderful when you stop. Therefore in
the spirit of full disclosure I should tell you that prior to DTN I
had tried to trade options using BMI.
