Greg,
Thank you for the information. I did not investigate it that thoroughly. I
am going to call tomorrow, and if Omega verifies that the passwords are
given yearly (which eventually leads to selling pswds. yearly), then I am
sending my copy of 2000i back, and then I'll reluctantly purchase a Y2K fix
for version 4 that Omega didn't prepare for in the first place, (I can't
believe that one - what a rip-off if it's true). We are required to pay for
their programming mistake? No way. Slowly (and definately) I'll move over to
another product to track my R/T trading. I don't like a company having
communistic control over the software that I purchase and own. It isn't just
a license - I paid for it - I bought it with hard earned money. It's mine.
Now Omega is going to control me and my pocketbook with yearly passwords
(and fixes) when I have already paid in full? There are also too many
excellent competitors out there now for Omega to "brow beat" its customers
like it did (and still does) when it was the only market tracking tool.
Consumers will migrate to where they are serviced; not to where they are
required to serve.
Good Trading and thanks again,
Eddie
