"Passwords will only be good for one year. No more "for life"
> passwords."
Ahemm. In BIG BOLD LETTERS on top of all the other material in my TS5
upgrade box is paper that read "Here's your password...This is a temporary
password. This temporary password will be replaced with a ***PERMANENT***
password upon receipt of the final payment for your product."
The word permanent in the dictionary means forever, never changing, etc.
This means that Omega owes me a password that NEVER CHANGES. They also owe
anybody who has this sheet the same. This means a password that is good for
the life of the product and not one we have to change annually. I don't
think you have to worry about buying passwords annually. That has never
been omega's policy unless is was clearly stated which in this is case it
hasn't. The policy in with vers 4 was a temp password until you paid for
the product then a password that never expired. There's no reason for this
to change and the message above indicates that they're doing the same with
TS5.
I had no prob installing TS5 on a small machine (P233MMX, 4G HD, 128K RAM).
Aside from a couple of small temporary problems, the installation in my
opinion was professional and easy. The functionality was good and it looked
good -- it came across well. I have yet to really stress it. I agree the
program is not completely finished and I've already generated a GP (click
the goaway button of chart when in full screen mode). There are several
quirks in the loading of data in the charting module. They need to work on
this. I'd bet they'll have them fixed by SP1. Yes, there are problems with
it and yes it's not finished but I'm happy with it so far. However, I
haven't even begun to scratch the surface using it and this opinion could
change fast.
