I do not believe that DDE is the cause of the problem, unless you meant to
say that the communication between the server and TS is through some sort
of DDE implementation.
Most users of TS are not using their DDE link capabilities.
DDE is not obsolete, although you can get that notion from the Microsoft
press releases, as they have tried to focus their method of data sharing
first through OCX and now with ActiveX.
It is true that for many applications (word processing, graphics, etc),
DDE has been replaced by these new methods.  But for our purposes in
trading (getting data from a server to another application that does not
directly access the server), DDE continues to be the best of all available
choices, and that is why DDE is now a standard in almost all the data
servers, both standalone and internet.
