Thanks for the response. Since I changed the symbol to DJ30 everything has
worked fine. I guess I better check the values to determine whether I got a
high of over 10,000.
You're right (I guess). I haven't received a DJIA quote since 3/11/99,
however with a symbol of DJ30 versus DJ_30, it runs without an error.

Guy,
The problem is not the symbol. The symbol is DJ 30 or DJ_30. The
problem is the theoretical data is over 10,000 and CompuServe can't
handle that yet. They are working on it as I spoke again to their
programmer today. I am hopeful it will be fixed shortly.
The error is really not in The DownLoader. CompuServe only allows one
error before it sends a disconnect command. The data being larger than
the field width is causing the error. For the time being, you just
remove the DJ 30 symbol from your collection on the select securities
dialog and the rest of your collection should work.

Subject: CompuServe data problem
For some reason, my CompuServe data feed shut down 2 days ago and I
haven't
been able to determine why.
Spent some time on it today and discovered that the had changed the
symbol
for the Dow Jones Industrial Average from DJ_30 to DJ30.
If you have a bad symbol at the front of your data request, the
Downloader
appears to shut down the entire download as in error.
Would have been nice to have received notice that the symbol had been
changed.
Also would be nice if the error messages appeared for a longer time.
With
the speed of these new systems, I think Equis is going to have to
address
how they show errors.
Regards
Guy
