Thanks Herman...
Thanks for all you've done and the help you've given me in the past.  I'll take this and see if I've
got anything that would fit right now.

Hello Joe,

sorry your comment (?) was missed. I have been traveling quite a bit, been pre-occupied with a new trading project, had computer problems, and had some trouble getting into the UKB. Life has been rather hectic. Of course these are all lame excuses ;-)

The point I want to make is that anyone who can make a coherent presentation, i.e., documented working code, is welcome to post. The best way to do this may be to email the editor directly (currently me). See the UB Info section. If you want to become a regular contributor you can request a password from Tomasz, this allows you to post directly without going through the editor.

While some posts may appear polished you will also find posts that are rough around the edges. Posts do not have to be professionally written papers, you can contribute in your own style and at your own comfort level. Or, if you find it too time consuming to write things up (I do), you can find a partner who edits the posts for you (I did).

The UKB has categories at all levels of AmiBroker expertise.

Best regards,

herman

First - I wanted to acknowledge all the work Brian, Herman and Al V(?) have put in the UKB and I apologize for stepping in here late when this could have been covered before.  I've put together 2 Wordpress sites (used as a CRMs not a blog) and I know how much work there is.

My Impressions -

I've been using AB for ? 4 years and have been exposed to quite a lot of code.  Along those lines I may have a few tidbits to contribute to the UKB that would probably help some new users.  I felt the site was somewhat closed to a few and just getting vetted to contribute was a significant hurdle.   For example I made an addition to one of the topics once and it was not ackn'd. or added.  Maybe cause it was trivial.   Probably there are a lot of others in the forum that have something to contribute but feel like I do, and it could be that's why the impression is that the UKB is stalled.

BTW, I'd vote stongly for keeping it Wordpress.  WP's use is growing exponentially as are the number of plug ins and morphing into a CRM.

Best regards

Joe

PS: And another thing - We don't want to P... Off another significant contributor like D.T. so lets be civil in our discourse.

Hello,

Yes, I fully support UKB in current (Wordpress) shape.

The fact that only few post is connected with the fact

that posting in UKB is seen as more "formal" than unformal e-mail

communication. On the other hand this more formal appearance

has positive side - it increases quality of contributions.

I would always prefer few quality UKB articles than lots of forum/list noise.

Elitetrader for example is forum-based. The amount of "noise" there

is enormous.
