Here is the key phrase:
'But the people who couldn't get past my sarcasm didn't get the opposing
view. So are they better or worse off?'
It seems to me that that, if you are trying to help people, you would
refrain from the sarcasm so others wouldn't have to 'get past' it.
If you true intention is just a juvenile verbal poke in the ribs, and
your 'concern' for others is false, then keep it up.
