John,

Since Dec 96 I have been trading a very simple mechanical system with the
Moore Research Reports seasonal trades as my initial filter. 97 was the
first year since 93 that I have made money in the futures market. I made
80% profit on my initial account balance trading single contracts. I trade
both the seasonal futures and future spreads. I haven't got the final
figure for Moores 97 performance(some trades initiated in 97 are still
open) but believe it will end up negative for the year. That shows that you
have to have a system to trade with the trend even if it is in a seasonal
window. What really made a difference for me this year was sticking to a
conservative money management plan.
