If it looks like a rose, smells like a rose, and feels likes a rose,
.... maybe it IS a rose.
Last time his name came up on this forum, he was trying to solicit
teenagers to send their pictures and schedules to him, (WITHOUT THEIR
PARENTS PERMISSION OR KNOWLEDGE). I e-mailed him privately asking for
clarification first, before I called his hand on this forum publicly.
His response to me was at the very least bizzar. Things haven't changed
much since then .... apparently.

RE: T.H. Murrey
Like, Eric, I too saw a hint of something valuable in Murrey's posts. I have read Murrey's book and studied many emailed gifs and have concluded that he is definitely on to something. I did find his writing to be hard to get through ( he does get off on tangents ), and I do not know if all of the "facts" that he claims to base his method on are correct...but when I did finally learn to draw his "square in time" and place it correctly, I was amazed at how accurate many of the calls were. My training is in mathematics and I can say that Murrey appears to have discovered a fractal based lattice that the market moves within complete with attractors ( attractors are a part of chaos theory).( There are also some who may claim, rightly or wrongly, that Murrey did not discover this. Personally I don't care who discovered it as long as it has value). I have been applying his "square" to all types of data from 1 minute to daily bars, and have found that the principles do hold up on a!
!
ll time frames meaning it is truly fractal in nature. I do not claim to understand all of his trading as the exact entry signals are based on 64 different candle stick patterns, many of which I am not familiar with. I trade full time, and as a result spend a great deal of my "boring day" doing research, and can definitely say that there is something to what he is doing. I can also say that I have received a good number of market calls prior to the fact that have been dead on. I would say that his work deserves serious consideration, even if you do not adopt all his methods. I certainly plan to spend some more time studying it, as "There is definitely some gold in them thar hills." Please accept this post in the spirit in which it is given: someone who is trying to answer a question as fairly and objectively as possible.
Wishing All the Very Best !
Bill

Subject: TH Murrey
RTer's,
In regards to TH Murrey, I almost hesitate to ask this, but I am
interested in some opinions on this man's work. First I will tell you
what I don't want; needles criticism, putdowns or otherwise negative
comments from individuals who have not read or studied his information.
If you have not read, traded, or backtested his methodology, DO NOT
respond to this post. I do not want to create a sounding board for
critics here. What I do want is responses, positive or negative from
folks who HAVE studied and traded his methodology, and their results
using it. I have not looked at his work, but have heard a lot about it,
here and elsewhere. What I am looking for is the truth, not hyperbole.
Thanks in advance for what I know will be thoughtful responses.
Mark
