RE: Flat Panel Monitors...

I'm using a 17" envision I got from Costco . It displays both the PC output
(adequately) and video. Switching between with a handheld remote. This has
been great since I can keep my backup computer running on it along with
Bloomberg video feed; saving me space of one TV/monitor. A feature you
might consider.

Costco also has a 19" for $ 600 (don't remember the brand) - but sorry, no
comparison shopping in costco like compusa!

For me, 19" (or bigger) is very important because I want to be able to
create a smaller working window to display my remote server via vnc. My
remote is set to 1152 x 768, and my main to 1280 x 1024. 17" provides text
that is too small to be legible, even at the same rez.

BTW: Todays, IBD had a write up of Planar in their New America section -
apparently they have been focused on high end radiology applications and are
just now getting into the other areas - seems like a good recommendation for
the $ 600 planar previously mentioned.

Subject: Flat Panel Monitors...

Hello all,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find much anywhere. I
am looking to buy a couple Flat Panel monitors, and would like to get
19inch viewable screens. It seems these can be had for around $700 plus
or minus a few bucks.

Does anyone out there have experience with any brand? I have looked at
NECs, Viewsonics, Gateways...is there one that's superior or are any of
them to be stayed away from? I would appreciate any input or guidance in
which direction I should be looking.

Sincerely,
Cody Burgat
