Re: Flat Panel Monitors...

I upgraded from a 17" to a 19" after an incident with smoke coming out of
the top of my 17" (literally!). To me, the 19" makes a huge difference.
Yes, I am sure I could run a 17" at the same 1152x864 resolution (with the
large fonts option) I am running my 19", but text and icons would be hard
to read at that resolution on a 17".

Next monitor, I'm looking at 21"ers! But meanwhile, my 19" Optiquest has
been fine for several years.

I think that the monitor size is the main reason why I feel more productive
working on my desktop rather than my laptop.

Don't forget to look at 17inch models also. You will find that they will
hold just as much information as a 19inch model. For some reason
the 19inch models don't have higher resolutions.

That would mean that you have just as much information, and everything
is just a little bigger.

If you don't have any problem with everything being just a little bit
smaller and since 17inch models are less than half the price of 19inch
models it might be worth to atleast look at them.
