Off Topic: Question about Regedit.exd

Can anyone tell me if it is safe to replace a corrupted file:
"regedit.exe" with a copy of the program from another computer?

I  am assuming it is corrupted because when I try to run it, it will not
run.

Any help will be appreciated.
