Sound for signals in TS 4.0

Having traded in my old computer and now using a new computer, I seem to
be having a problem generating sounds when a signal occurs.
Using TS4.0, can someone refresh my memory as to how one generates sound
for a signal?.

I went to Control panel, sounds and set windows default for a chord  wav
file. I clicked on the play button and I can hear the sound.  Then I
went to TS, tools options, attention, Sounds ,checked always and
UNchecked triple beep, thus using the windows default beep.

I thought this was the setting that worked on my old computer but so far
not a sound has been heard on the new machine using TS 4.0.



Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
