More TL...no, a TS2k problem

Hello,

Said with puffed chest (like Mark Twain or something), "I, too, am a beta
tester for TradeLab and I think....., blah, blah, blah" Actually, I am one,
but that has no bearing on this little problem.

I need to know if Tradestation 2000 will run on a K-2 300 mhz Win98 machine
with 128 mb ram?

The short version of my story (maybe this will help other adventurous
souls): I changed from BMI to DTN about 2 1/2 months ago. This necessitated
changing to TS2000. I had TS2000 sitting on a shelf for a year waiting for
it to work with Win2000. I had purchased a new computer in anticipation of
TS2000. It is a dual PIII 550 with 512 mb ram. High speed port card also.
Should be enough machine. I also have 2 Colorgraphic 4 port cards running a
total of 8 monitors. I use Advanced GET real time off the Global Server.

I can't keep this running more than a day or so. I've installed,
reinstalled, wiped the drive, lowered the number of symbols (down to
642...but Rough Rice could be the problem), dumped the anti-virus, dumped
Advanced GET, kicked, screamed and drank (lots!!!). Oh yes, I've called
Omega Tech support literally daily for a month. They have a standard
refrain...reinstall or copy out the data or delete the index files. You know
the drill.

I hear people have somewhat similar setups running successfully. I'm in
disbelief. Congratulations! I also hear it can take 2-3 months to work out
all the kinks. Ugh! Last week I read that someone had video driver conflicts
and this was causing problems. I called Omega and they had no clue about
that.

I would guess I could go the Dynastore/TS4.0 route, but that doesn't seem
like the optimal solution. Now, I'm left with the idea that I will roll back
to Win98 and go back to trading for a living. What a thought.

Well...any ideas?

Tradeless in LA,
Mark
