A few have done more than simply say that; they've proposed
to do so. In fact, hearings on the Fair Tax Act of 1999,
specifically, and tax reform, in general, are scheduled to
begin tomorrow. The FTA, as written, would immediately
repeal income, payroll, estate, and gift taxes. The
foregoing would be replaced by a 23% federal retail sales
tax. Should be interesting........
