RE: Omega Abandons TS2000i

Does Omega, or any other trading software based company for that matter,
really think that someone who has spent countless hours on propriety
indicators/systems will use these with an Internet client/server based
trading platform?

I seem to remember that not too long ago Real Networks was caught sucking
information off client systems where their software was installed. They just
happened to get caught. They will be more careful next time.

It would be a trivial matter to forward any indicators/systems from the
client system to an Internet based trading software server. Don't fool
yourself into believing that if you "secure" your systems using the power
editor that no one can crack your system. The token files are not compiled
into the native machine code and if decompiled, will be 99% complete. In
fact, if you already have the source for the compiler, reversing this
procedure is not that difficult.

As for a business venture, I have no doubt that there is money to made in
this area because people just can't get enough of the stock market or
Internet these days. As far as me releasing into the Internet any work that
I've spent a lot of time on and that is profitable, I don't think so....

IMO, Internet client/server based trading platforms are best used with
generic, canned indicators/systems. Period.

Guys - don't get all bent out of shape here.
Technology changes cause changes in direction.
Omega is under severe pressure to provide an internet-based solution
because
several competitors are ready to do so.

I doubt they will abandon TS2000i and anyway, the SP4b version seems
to be a
	decent one (finally).
