I agree.

Discussions on this list often take on a life of their own and are
propelled by an anger that is masked in the editorials.  All too
often, respect seems to be an early casualty when disputes erupt.
When this happens a hooligan style appears which elevates the
threshold of pain to a level that is filtering who will survive.

The vision that I get when these melees ignite is that of a packs of
wolves descending upon a carcass determined to get their pound of
flesh from the victim or, each other.  If this list-element was
listed in the Periodic table it would be labeled as a bio-hazard in
the federal register.

It would be far better if personal counseling was better employed so
that the good messages  weren't being lost in the style of delivery.
I would also like to see reprisals take more holidays.  As a
professional trader, I don't find myself migrating toward brawls and
have become hyper-active in the use of my Delete button and reticent
in the offering of information.

In summary, caustic behaviors don't seem to be the best approach to
improving the flow of information.
