My problem connecting to the BMI feed as described below is fixed.
To summarize, the BMI Data Manager and BMI Market Center were working properly, but my Global Server couldn't connect to the Data Manager. I had just downloaded and installed the current BMI software from the DBC site.
I was able to speak to someone at Omega Tech Support, who asked me to re-install the BMI software from the Omega ProSuite CD. Everything started working at this point.
I have since compared the build numbers: the software from the DBC site shows the Data Manager at Build 70. The ProSuite CD installs Build 77. That must make the difference.
Bottom line is to ensure that TCI/IP is installed, and to install the Signal Software from the ProSuite CD.
Now on to the real work.
Thanks to those to offered help.

>I was very puzzled by the same thing. No mention of BMI, except after the install, where the BMI sub-server was correctly identified after I installed the Signal s/w.

>Still, I couldn't get the Global Server to communicate with the Data Manager.

>After drifting around for a while on the Omega Site, I read that one should ensure that the Market Center Platinum Software runs properly first. So I downloaded and installed that. But I couldn't get Market Center to work with the Data Manager.

>I had read something on the Omega site about the programs communicating with TCP/IP. Since this machine has never been set up for the Internet it was missing that protocol, so I went to Control Panel/Networking and installed TCP/IP.

>Hooray, the Market Center Software started working. :-) It was like magic.

>The bad news is the Omega Global Server is still not connecting. I have two symbols: MSFT and DELL, in the Portfolio list and under RT Status, they show as "Not Connected". When I go to the "Performance" Tab in the GlobalServer, it shows my DataFeed as BMI, and the Connect Status as Initialized, but I'm getting no quotes. Now the market is closed, so things might be quiet anyway.

>I've tried adding the Test Symbol "BTC2IF", but Market Center won't accept it, and GlobalServer won't connect it.

>I dunno.

>Now waiting to get through to Omega Tech Support. Thought I might ask for hints from this list while I wait.
