I get BMI RT data by cable over the CSPAN channel and decided to compare
volumes for 4 stock options plus Microsoft for March 8. I compared the
BMI data with Track Data and with a full-service broker. Track Data
matched the brokerage's data, but the apparent BMI deficiency surprised
me. I will discuss this with BMI Tech Support tomorrow and let anyone
who is interested know what they say.
Data BMI Volume Actual Volume BMI Deficiency
MSFT 10,837,400 11,681,500 7%
SCHCN 28 73 62%
SCHON 31 206 85%
SCHCP 81 541 85%
SCHOP 24 136 82%
Is the BMI data even useable when you miss as much as 85% of it? Is
there anything better?
If there is a more reliable Internet-based service, I would upgrade to
TS2000i and switch data vendors for that reason alone.
Thanks to all,
Mike
