I also noticed that Peter Norton (Norton Utilities, Norton Anti-Virus,
etc.) is selling a Y2K compatibility checker for some ridiculous
price. 

If you are concerned about it you can check out NSTL (National
Software Testing Laboratories) at http://www.nstl.com where they have
a free Y2K checker called YMARK2000.

However, be aware that YMARK2000 may tell you that your PC is not Y2K
compliant when it, in fact, is.  This is because of the way it analyzes the
RTC (real time clock).

Be sure and check with you PC vendor (probably thru their web site).

Also, some PC's may not "roll" correctly from 1999 to 2000, but will work
fine if you reboot them and reset the date.
