My suspicion is that these servers are supporting facilities that *only*
Microsoft browsers understand.  They're probably running Active-X controls
and .ASP server side pages.

So the popularity of Windows NT isn't because of technical merit... its
because Bill Gates has you all locked into his products so tightly that
you can't wiggle out from his tight-fisted grasp...

You get Windows 95 so you get the browser bundled in with it... but since
you want to use all those way-cool features Microsoft provides you are now
forcing the server adminstrator to run an NT server to support those
gee-gaws.

When it comes to supporting popular vendor-neutral standards, Unix based
servers and software are generally the choice.
