Following is clarification from the Tech Support Supervisor at Omega Research.
For explanation I know of several video cards that will support multiple monitors in Windows 95 or NT, using a video bus, which run $600 and up depending on the number of monitors supported. With the requisite programming in TradeStation V5.0, Windows98 could support multiple monitors using certain models of standard PCI cards with somewhat more load on the CPU. since there is no video bus.
My inquiry was to determine whether TradeStation V5.0 would support multiple PCI video cards, and if so how, and also to determine if Omega was going to test TradeStation V4.0 in Windows 98 and FAT-32.
Incidentally the retail version of Windows 98 beta 3 is good thru 1998.

Subject: Multiple Monitor Support in Windows 98
Dear Chris Baker,
I saw your post on the Omega List about multiple monitor support, and the
response from one of our technicians. I'd like to answer your questions in a
little better detail, and clear up the bit of ambiguity in Rich S.'s answer.
We are unable to answer whether or not TradeStation 5.0 will use any specific
multiple monitor features of Windows 98 because the program is still in
development. However, multiple monitor video cards are used quite often by our
clients. Use of these cards has required no additional support programming by
Omega Research, Inc. The support has been completely through the manufacturer
of the video card.
I assume that Windows 98 will still support 16-bit applications because there
has been no announcement otherwise. Windows NT 4.0 is a 'true' 32-bit operating
system, but still includes provisions for running 16-bit applications. I
suspect Windows 98 will be similar in that respect.
TradeStation 4.0 is compatible with FAT32. FAT32 is included with the latest
release versions of Windows 95 and there have not been and reported problems
specfic to Omega Research, Inc. programs and the use of FAT32.
Sincerely,
Frank Garriel
