I can see that the file is correctly named when I look in:
C:\Program Files\Equis\The DownLoader
As a test, I copied Nasdaq100.sym (which appears in the "Type"
dropdown) to Nasdaq100_02.sym
I then closed and re-opened the DownLoader. The renamed file does
not appear in the "Type" list.
In summary, anything I create manually does not appear in the list.

because of the windows nature of hiding the extensions of known file
types. You have two alternatives.
