using VB / VB.NET / VC7.NET MetaStock is not limiting the
development environment, thus you can use C# as well. I am using MetaStock to
chart my system trading results and indicators. All testing is done in a “home
grown” trading harness. I have one code base, used for the MetaStock DLL
and my own application. I didn’t like the system development environment
of MS but I liked the charting etc. very much. So I get the best of both
worlds.

That is a tough market to get into, it's very
competitive. Why would a similar system be
preferable to any of the current contenders?
This is just one of many questions you must ask
yourself when deciding whether or not to write a
program.
