Michael,
reading back through the support mail correspondence with you after you
ran the patch, it appears the date problems were intermittent and the
support representative suggested logical items to try and alleviate
them. This message sounds like they are no longer intermittent.
Intermittent problems are the hardest to solve because the main question
you must ask is why on only some and not on others. Why just on a few
machines and not on others. What is the solution?
I am sending you a 6.52 CD. I'd suggest you uninstall your current
version of MetaStock and install version 6.52 from the CD This CD by the
way is the full program with ALL of the items the patch accomplishes
rather than patching. Keep in mind, version 6.52 is an upgrade to
version 6.5, not just a minor patch of files. New compiler etc. as in
most other upgrades.
The alert situation as been admitted as a "design flaw" or "bug" if you
prefer and as such is being changed. However, how to change it without
adding the gigantic alert history file has been problematic. The
designer are working on it. A decision may have already been made.
Support is not always privy to what the decisions are and when or how
such a change may be available.

Subject: since patch update / no help given
every time i open metastock, i hope that it will open with the same
start date, eventhough i have checked off the reatain settings in the
x-axis box & using smart charts.
very often metastock will open my charts with ALL the periods downloaded
& then i have to reset my x-axis start date.
also,
if i enlarge any chart, ALL the other stock charts will get the same
enlraged view.
ALL THIS SINCE THE PATCH UPDATE.
i contacted metastock support about this several weeks ago, but they
never bothered to give me any correction to this problem that THEY
created with this patch.
(ALSO, notice how they changed "alerts" that are attached to experts,
alerts pop-up only ONCE when going to a chart, and alerts accumulate
over a period of weeks. when you finally apply a chart you haven't
visited in weeks you get a series of alerts pop up dating from multiple
back dates- what a waste of time, getting alerts from 3 or 4 weeks ago)
also no correction made here either.
NOW I TURN TO THE GROUP.
any solutions to the above?
