All,

     Another great week for
my portfolio. I moved the targets and stops up several times during the
week, but didn't hit any of them. I'll recap my open stock positions,
current targets, and stops below. (The CCI target and stop also applies to
my long CCI LEAP call position.) I'm beginning to believe that this rally
may last for a while. All the indices I follow (NASDAQ, Russel, SPX, OEX,
NYSE) except the DJIA have broken out of their down trends and established
fairly well defined Short Term Up Trend Channels (STUTCs). The lone
exception, the DJIA, is still within the Horizontal Channel (HC) and even looks
like it might be trying to bounce off the top of it. However, looking at
the other indices and the indicators for the DJIA, I now believe that the DJIA
is just gathering strength to break through the channel top at 8760 and will
make another run on the all time high 9400 level by the end of the year.
That's my fearless prediction for this week <G>. In case we do break
out, I'm going to raise my targets to just below my stocks old highs where that
makes sense. However, realizing that I'm often wrong, I'm also going to
keep moving my stops up under the STUTCs as soon as I can. Also, I won't
add any new positions until the DJIA does break out of its HC. Since I'm
fully invested that's no hardship.

     There is one stock that
is beginning to look very interesting to me and that's the powerhouse retailer -
Walmart (WMT). Walmart is getting close to a triple top and is giving
every indication that it will break through. If it does break out and the
DJIA also breaks out, WMT will be my first choice to replace any positions that
I close.

     WMT
at 68 is in a STUTC with the top at 76 and the bottom at 66. It set an all
time high of just under 70 in mid July, pulled back to under 60 in early August
then rose to just under 70 again in late August. From there it fell to a
little above 50 in late September. It broke out of its Short Term Down
trend Channel (STDTC) in early Oct and rose to just under 70 once again
Monday. It fell back Tuesday, gathered strength again Wednesday and
Thursday, then made a good up move Friday. The Tema Binary Wave Composite
just turned positive and the QStick is negative, but rising from a negative
peak. This sure looks like a setup for a triple top break out to me.
The fundamentals on WMT are good. It has a price/sales of 1.2, a
debt/equity of 0.51, almost 20% sales growth and almost 30% earnings
growth. If I do establish a position, I'll set the target just under the
top of the STUTC at 75 and the stop just under the bottom of the STUTC at 65
3/4.

     I'll send a WMT.GIF chart to everyone
on the chart email list. If you aren't ion it, and want on, just
yell.

Hello,

The program I used before MetaStock was ProTA on the
Macintosh by Beesoft (http://www.beesoft.net). Part of
their program is a Universal Text Importer. One could 'drag
and drop' a data file on ProTA which recognizes several
formats(including MetaStock). When a format isn't
recognized, the user is presented with a window displaying
the first few lines of the data file and about 10 pop-up
menus from which the user chooses the column identity (i.e.
ignore, symbol, date, high,...). This importing method
allows Beesoft to write a general conversion routine. I
would love to see something like this in
MetaStock/Downloader.

ProTA's routine also produces an exportable report listing
the stocks imported and any errors. I would also like to
see this capability added to the Downloader (I know the
Downloader produces a report, but I can't figure out how to
save it for later viewing or for manipulation by my
automation program).
