Ken,

I am looking in to whether to upgrade to 6.51 and really appreciated the
information and experience that you supplied in your posting.

Since you are using Signal (I assume by the price that it is Online and not
Stockedge) does it supply EOD data as well or are you getting that from a
separate supplier?

How well does the Signal interface with your broker work? What I am getting
at is 2-fold. One, the Signal software has a trade button that I assume
lauches or opens the window for your broker software. Which does it do?
Second, does this interface with the broker work smoothly and efficiently?

Let me throw you my proposed set-up for your comments:

I would get EOD data from either Signal (if available) or my present EOD
data supplier.
I would use MS 6.51 for EOD expolorations and system testing.
I would get RT data from Signal and use MS 6.51 for RT explorations and
system testing. Can you do both EOD and RT explorations at the same time?
I would use Datek On-line (good execution speed and good commissions) for
order execution.
Do you see any problems with the following setup from your experience?

I think that this setup will give me the best overall return versus a canned
system such as Real Tick III. Given that the canned systems have SOES
execution of orders; I feel that the benefit of SOES (ie reduced spread
loss) does not overcome the additonal commissions ($20-$30 versus $10) and
software charges. The canned systems also have no where near the complexity
of MSPro 6.51 for tech. analysis. I hope this gives you a good
understanding of how I am thinking.

Any comments from others would also be appreciated.

thanks in advance,

Ed
