I always try things before responding. This time the same. I can have
main window maximized on any screen and this does NOT affect
proper saving of the location of floating windows on any monitor.
Note that position of main window is not part of the layout.
In Windows the position of MAIN application window is stored in
registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER and is ONE for all running instances
for one user.
The layout stores only locations of *CHART* windows. The position
of chart windows can be either RELATIVE to main application window
(for chart windows that are non-floating - living inside main app window) or ABSOLUTE
(for chart windows that are floating)
You can use 2 instances but then you need to realize that certain things are common for all instances
because they are saved in registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER
or app directory.
- main window location
- docking windows location
- files listed here: http://www.amibroker.com/guide/x_files.html
This has the effect that if you save something, the "last writer" overwrites previous writes
of common things.
Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko
