[amibroker] Re: OT:Two DSL Services

After having used both DSL and cable for a number of years, I've
found cable to much more reliable. I live in the San Ffran Bay Area,
and I too pay double for cable (Comcast), what my parents pay for DSL
(sbc/yahoo). However, the reliability & speed doesn't compare
honestly. I was really impressed with cable.

My parents DSL is not as bad as yours, I don't think... but theirs
does cut out at times.

Plus Comcast is upgrading all of their subscribers free (3mbits ->
4mbits & 4mbits -> 6mbits, i think).

Plus I dont' have a land line anymore, just my cell phone - which
also saves on the local phone.

One other thing make sure you have both:
1 - Adaware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/)
2 - Spyware - Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-
networking.org/en/download/index.html)

Network problems could *always* be spyware-related now a days without
the above.

very reliable. However, a few weeks ago, the DSL line sometimes
becomes so overloaded, that only Amiquote can manage to use this
overloaded DSL line. Outlook Express is unable to go get the mail
during these times.

I suspect that someone in the neighborhood is doing massive downloads
after they arrive home from work.

second DSL service such as Earthlink, that I have copied below, would
it be able to function during the periods that the Swbell DSL is
bogged down. I am guessing that it a second DSL supplier could get
through if it is using a different part of the frequency band.
