I've been very pleased with the free AVG anti-virus program obtainable at
www.grisoft.com. When I got infected with
the Sven virus a few months ago, AVG had a fix a full day before Norton and
McAfee had it. It seems to do an excellent job of catching viruses, and the nice
thing, it is free. However, the most recent issue of PC World found the AVG Pro
version (the one you pay for) to be very inferior to other antivirus programs on
the market. Confusing. Anyone else have any problems with AVG?

I probably can't give you the best advice
concerning what the best choice is at the moment agree about Symantec .......
I had enough of Symantec / Norton as well. It
is IMPOSSIBLE to get ANY communication going to get help with their stuff. I
had a major crash on one of my machines when I put XP on top of Windows 2000.
I just formatted the drive and therefor I lost my Symantec stuff. Now I can't
get it back because nobody in this damned firm can be reached to help me
with this problem. Since I upgraded their program from their page. I have no
stuff on disk.
So I gave up on them. This piece of shit company
will go bancrupt for sure the way they treat clients. Never again for
me. Short SYMC!!! Now I use the Zonealarm free firewall and I got a Virus
Scanner from McAfee (borrowed). Also I use free Spybot and Adaware to get rid
of other pests,
regards, Ed

Hello,We all know how important online security
is (firewalls and anti virus software), especially for
traders.Yesterday I used the Windows XP updater, then the Norton
updater and now my Norton firewall slows my hi speed cable connection
down to a crawl. When I disable Norton internet securities
firewall, I am back up to blazing speed.Although Symantec
usually issues an update several days after problems occur, I have had
enough with Symantec! Can people provide recommendations as to which
anti virus and firewalls they use. I know some here use the Free
versions of AVG and Zone alarm, are they a good choice compared to
Norton Internet
Security?ThanksJimSend BUG
