you sure put a nice smile on my face!!!

size=2>Well, that 100% that was just an example. Using the Old backtester we had
a nice "System to B&H Index", I liked that very much, it usually was one of
the first stats i looked at, and i miss it. So i am looking for a substitute
rating/index.

year and comparing their collective B&H return to system performance.
Perhaps others have better ideas...

<FONT face=Arial color=#0000ff
size=2>The point is, if the market is roaring should we be trading for far
less?? Good reversal systems don't care about trends so there is certainly
security in using a trading system vs B&H... but where and how is the trade
off?

Portfolio Trading vs Buy&Hold comparisonHi

can't beat B&H, why subject yourself to the emotionalstress of
trading? That said, I did not beat B&H last year for
sure.However, on a risk-adjusted basis I walloped B&H -- but on
anabsolute basis, B&H beat me like a red-headed step child.
Regardless,I'm not complaining one little bit. ^_-The answer
to your question, in my mind, is at least twofold: 1) oneyear is not
enough to determine the "goodness" of a system -- notenough at all unless,
by gosh and golly, it *did* beat B&H duringthat year, and B&H had
a great year, and 2) if your portfolio tradingsystem DID return 100
percent last year, why in hell (excusez-moi,mais la langue française est
partout de nos jours) would you care onelittle Tootsie Pop about anyone's
subjective opinion about the"goodness", or otherwise, of your
system? If you have to ask if 100 percent is any good, you in da wrong
biz,boy!^^_^^YukiP.S. Many stocks did NOT go up
that much, too. The major averagesdidn't come even near that
number. You did 100 percent? You da man, sorry.
