CML tickers + preventing Option tickers from entering the data base

Dear TJ and ASX Traders

Up to, and including 18 July 01, a prominent company, Coles Myer
Limited, traded on the ASX with the ticker CML. On the 19 July 01 it
started trading with the new ticker CMLDA and on the 20 July a second
style of share with the ticker CMLC also began trading (with a
considerable premium to CMLDA). I import an ascii data file using the
ogema.format file.

The two new data files CMLDA and CMLC have been created and, as
should be the case, no data has gone into the old CML file after 18
July. Unfortunately, no data have gone into CMLDA and CMLC, despite
it definitely being there in the ascii files.

Q1] can you suggest what action I should take to fix this ? (I should
then merge the old CML with the new CMLDA ??)

Q2] My ascii files contain hundreds of six-letter tickers denoting
stock options. How do I prevent them from entering the data base at
all ?

For ASX traders there is a 'proper explanation' of the new Coles Myer
Limited shares at www.egoli.com.au - it seems to go like this: CMLC
are the 'first' 500 shares owned by shareholders. The rest of a
shareholders holdings are CMLDA "tickered" shares ! Bloody hell!

Thanks to all
