Hello List,
I apologize for the response to this off topic subject. They find the cheapest
labor because US consumers want the cheapest computers, and every other product
for that matter. Those five hundred dollar computers would cost five times that
if built with American unionized labor. If you want to be free to choose
the cheapest computer, then companies should be free to choose the cheapest
labor. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

That
says it in a nutshell. But then, if the tech companies were really<font

interested in their US customers, they would not
be shipping US
manufacturing and service jobs to wherever they
can find the cheapest labor.
Collectively they are laying off their consumers
who range from laborers to
engineers and accountants. Ultimately, the jobs
will either be restored to
the US for political reasons, or US labor rates
will be brought down to the
lowest common denominator. Even the poor Mexicans,
who thought they had it
great with NAFTA led Maquiladora (sp?) plants, now
find they are losing
those plants to Asia.
