With the INDU going sideways for two days and with
trin and vix both running above their previous days close for two days and with
trin running above 1.0 on Wednesday the triangle break had the odds of going to
the downside on Thursday I would think.

These "triangles" were drawn using the TS
Trendlines-Automatic, stren 4, history no so it only plots the most recent
upper and lower trendlines. Perhaps coupling the tradeable up with
something else like trin and vix might help deduce the breakout
direction. In this case both the Trin and VIX were working above their
previous day's close(yellow line) suggesting the INDU might be headed for a
spill.

Triangles are "simple" but "complex"
things.Measures of the validity of a triangle could be the number
ofbars from base to apex of triangle -- Junk0 & Junk1 use a
250bar criteria while Junk2 uses a 100 bar.Another measure is
the difference in the slope of the top andbottom lines.
Junk0=1.0, Junk1=0.5, and Junk2=0. Butremember, the cutoff
for junk2 was 100 bars.Of course the first parameter is the length
(in bars) for pickingthe pivots. In these cases it was 8 bars
(see LengthOfSwing foran explanation -- in files area).Thought
this might provoke some conversation about whatthese "straight line"
figures represent. If you want to study other symbols let me know
and I willpublish them.Clyde- - - - - - - - - - - - -
