Hey, come on. We have nukes, don't we?
Sure, a lot less than we used to but we've still got loads of 'em. And a
low infant mortality rate. And we're inventing pilotless drones to fly
over enemy countries and drop bombs so our sons don't have to. Who just
announced last week that they're giving $15 billion to buy drugs for people in
Africa who can't keep it in their pants? We did!!! And we've got
that internet thing that Algore invented goin'. And as of last year we
have our own domesticly-designed (but not domesticly-produced) game system
(X-Box). And they're still putting up McDonald's around the world and
even suing people in Scotland named MacDonald so we've that going for us.
And Bush scares that rest of the world the way Kim Jung Il scares us so that's
pretty cool. And whose Space Shuttle blew up last week. There's only
one possible answer to that 'cuz we're the only ones on the block who have
any. Jennifer Garner. Name a third world country with a Jennifer
Garner. And hey, who does China come to for all their high-tech
stuff? The good ole USA. Best politicians money can buy. And I
bet we're the only country in the world with more kids on Prozac than pot.
How about that?

So you consider the US a third world country during
the 40s and 50s. I have been around for over 70 yrs. and could consider
the US a 3rd world country today by definition. It imports technology,
exports agricultural products and is deeply in debt.
