    Yes, the tone of a communication does count mightily.  You may remember
that the majority of the country didn't agree with many of Ronald Reagan's
ideas. But, they liked his soothing voice, so that when he finished talking
most people weren't sure of what he said but they thought he seemed like a
nice person so they were willing to go along.  Mr. Brown has taught us that
the opposite could also be true.
One can present what some perceive as valuable information but if presented
in a caustic fashion, it will not be heard with an open mind. Such is the
art of communicating.
