I day trade equities, primarily QQQ's, through Terra
Nova. When I was in the process of switching from ISDN to cable I talked
with some of the tech guys at MB Trading (branch office at time) about satellite
connections. They could never get them to work for a similar reason - just
could not stay hooked up to the network. Something about the route switch
from telephone/sattelite and the delay they really drove them nuts. The
customers eventually switched to cable/dsl when it became available in their
area. This was a couple of years ago, but your "connection
problems" sound extremely similar.
