[RT] Matlab (how good is it?)

All,

What do you folks think of Matlab for trading/analysis?  How about Maple
6?  I notice that Maple 6 has the ability to connect to Excel which sounds
useful.

I recently purchased the academic version of Matlab at school for some
visualization work and figure it might be useful for trading.

Any opinions?
