Bob:

It looks like you can GIVE it but you can not TAKE it.

You put yourself out there by criticize astrology. I
do not follow astrology although I have a small working
knowledge of what it is about. I would not know the
difference between the the square of Venus or Uranus
bisecting its second moon or Pluto hobble along on its
way to conducting its sun. What I do know is that
enough posts have been made to this site to make anyone
realize that astrology may have a place in stock market
forecasting. Norman from Naples told us about winning a
contest using astrology. It was published in Stocks and Commodities.
Other people have made posts that should make anyone
aware that dispute their prejudices it may work.

You said my post was "unnecessary", I disagree. You
took it upon your self to belittle and degrade a
subject that has been discussed on here many times. By
stating that " This list is deteriorating by the day"
you obviously have a prejudice in some form or another.
I feel based on the evidence that astrology is "germane
to some level of credibility", obviously you do not.
Neither of us has been appointed Judge, Jury and
Executioner of this list.

If you can disprove that astrology does not work then
maybe you would have some credibility. I think I can
safely say that you have never studied it extensively
and done hours and hours of research to determine if it
is valid. No, you just have an opinion that is not
based on fact. My "unnecessary" reply to your email
was because you decided to criticize a subject that may
have some merit. Even if you had picked a subject that
had no merit in my opinion I would have answered you.
I would have hoped that after 200 years we would have
obtained a level of tolerance and understanding so we
can all live in peace.
I believe the constitution calls one of them Freedom of
Speech. Unless anyone can speak with authority on a
subject they do not have the common courtesy right to
criticize a method, system or whatever.

I took a very popular indicator that was published in
the late 60's and back tested it to 1970. I spent many
hours and determined that it does not work. It is
followed by many people to this day. I feel I could
knock it on this list because I have done the research.

Yes I know what "equity market fundamentals are" ( a
slight error in verbiage, but I will forgive you).
Equity means a stock, equity fundamentals are the
earnings of a company, management, industry trends,
etc. You said you were an equity trader, I address my
comments from this perspective in my last email. Market
fundamentals or stock market fundamentals,
the word equity does not apply, is something else
altogether. It is what you listed in your last email,
interest rate, oil prices etc. I did not address this
because you traded stocks. They are secondary
fundamentals that people may or may not look at if they
are primarily stock traders. If I had been concerned
with these I may not have bought Telex, a stock that
went up 240% while the market dropped over 20%.

My opinion of market fundamentals that you listed is
the same.

1. It is impossible to know all of the news and items
that fundamentally affect price at any given point in
time.

2. Even if this wealth of information were known, it is
to rapidly changing to allow for interpretation and
correct action.

3. The news is dated and widely disseminated by the
time it is received.

4. Since money is either made or lost in the price
movement, effects should thus be concentrated on the
study of price.

When does the market make a top? When most of the news
is bullish and there is nobody left to buy. How do
you measure this with fundamentals? If you try to mix
fundaments with technical you may end up a basket case.
You may die rich but you can not take it with you.
Believe me I have done the research on this.

I do not think I was "rude", you should look up the
meaning in the dictionary.
May be I was "unprofessional" because I disagreed with
you and took you to task for a very unprofessional
statement. if you are going to stick your nose out
there be prepared for someone to chop it off.
I think your statement "carry around that attitude" is
a little ambiguous and does not apply in amy way to my
answer to you. Maybe we could call it a play on words.

"Interest rates, employment figures, retail
expectations, oil prices and contrarian opinion
........and a thousand other things that are facts." I
would like to know your parameters on a few of these.
Where do they turn bullish and bearish? Have you done
a study to determine whether your parameters are
statically correct? In other words when XXX happened
the market went down XXX number of times. What
percentage of the time was it correct and how far back
did you test it?
