Your probably need to expand a bit on your needs and intentions. MetaStock
Win $300+- is probably the best general purpose technical analysis package
out there for daily, weekly, monthly data analysis ... lots of indicators
and basic formula builder and system tester. If you need to analyze multiple
data streams on a single chart, then you'll have to go with SuperCharts 4.0
$300+- from Omega. Ensign Windows at $29/month is primarily a real-time
platform but will do EOD analysis and the new 32-bit version supports a very
powerful and fast development language. If you require advanced capabilities
for building and testing systems then you'll need to consider TradeStation
4.0 $2800. MetaStock licenses are transferable and trade around $100-$150
with the company providing support and upgrades. SC and TS licenses are not
legally transferable but resales trade around $100 and $400 respectively if
you'll never need support or upgrades (all existing Omega products die at
Y2K). There are other good products out there, some of which are very
specialized.
