Pete made a mistake, let's flog him:)
Sunspots actually have a 22.x years cycle (there is some argument on the x, but lets
say it is 3, for 22.3 years). The Maximum/Minimum cycle is half that but when one
takes into account the polarity of the magnetics, we find that it is 22 years. In
other words, it the sunspots on the northern hemisphere of the sun are magnetically
north, then 11 years later the southern hemisphere sunspots will be magnetically
north.
