right to the point:

I wanted to short the market this week (NOT hindsight) but was tied
up.......

Anyway, for every $3,500 short one e-mini at 1195 at the beginning of the
week and cover at 1155 a few days later, be willing to ride it up to 1225
stop, I KNOW it's insane, but it's the way i trade. Anyway, 2k
maintenance, and willing to lose $1,500,
but nice correction to atleast 1155 before 1225 is obviously my bet.
So for every block of $3,500 set aside for this past weeks trade, would now
be worth $5,500.

The million dollar question: take 3,500 last monday and follow my above
advice
and be happy with a 2k week, or take 3,500 on monday and buy as many oex
put's
as you can with 3500 (probably in the 580's and get out when the spz hit
1155,
which was probably in the 560's ???)

UNFORTUNATELY, i did not follow too closely this week
FORTUNATELY, i can chat with some real traders

Real Traders:

What would you of done for every 3500 , and if you stuck with my above
mentioned
plan would 3500 been worth more in oex puts by thurs/fri (i know about
premium,
time value, etc, i've been trading futures for about 5 years, started with
oex though,
then "graduated" to futures, then forgot about oex, too many early bad
experiences
i guess?

p.s. as you notice from my .....it will go to 1155 before it goes to
1225......
that i obviously don't trade with tight stops in those situations, and
certainly don't use 4-5% stops (ha,ha?), but seriously, people overlook
trading like this because they
say..."You can't risk 1,500 with only 3500......., but based on the charts,
the rising wedge, the overbought, greenspan, whatever, i don't know, but
even without any
hind sight, wasn't the e-mini described above a "bankable" trade!? Again,
wouldn't the oex given more bang for the 3500 buck though.......

feed back, anyone..........

Thanks,

Gary
