There are many sites including my online broker that offer free
real-time quotes. However the problem is that one must type in and
refresh the request which is very inconvenient when one is intraday
trading in a fast moving market.
The dynamic real-time system for which there is always a charge
(worthwhile) continuously refreshes itself, and so you can see the
moving ticker prices and when/if you want to, can execute a trade. It
is a more efficient way of keeping track of price movement.
StockVue is a good example but while it is free, it is not in real time
and almost defeats the purpose.
