I partially agree with the analogy.
However, there is a big difference between exchange traded markets and a
poker table. The markets are always there when you elect to play your hand.
If you play too tight at a poker table then when you raise, the rest will
fold. In that event, all you collect is the ante regardless of the merit of
your cards.
Poker is about reading the mood of the table, overlayed with probabilities.
