Hello,
I purchased the "New Market Timing Techniques" book and have put it aside.
I'm fairly new to trading and originally considered DeMark one of the
authorities in the technical analysis field. After studying a bit, I've
revised my opinion of him. It's not that he is not sincere, but he develops
so many different indicators that it's difficult to evaluate them all. Many
of them also tend to be so complex that I get the impression that they are
based on some very particular set of market circumstances, which would be
okay if you could know just what those circumstances are beforehand. They
tend to be something like the following:

If today's close is less than the previous days close and the previous
days close is less that the close 4 days ago and todays high is less
than the average high of the past nine days and the highest high of the past
nine days is lower than the average close of the past 13 days....

and so on.

I'm not saying none of this has merit, just that, for me, it gets so
complicated that it activates my KISS alarm. Your mileage may vary.

I've developed a trading system that I've been trading with real money for
about two months and currently show a profit. My most valuable sources were
the following:

  Perry Kaufman, "Smarter Trading"
Tushar Chande, "The New Technical Trader"
Charles LeBeau, "Computer Analysis of the Futures Market"
William Blau, "Momentum, Direction, and Divergence

I also purchased the Adaptive Moving Average from Jurik Research, which
is well worth the money and which I consider responsible for making my
system workable.

Regards,
Glenn Crumpley

thanks to all who sent comment regarding my recent bable. To those who
begged me to sufficiently test my theories before comitting any money, i
intend to.

Has anyone an opinion on "New Market Timing Techniques"
by Thomas R Demark.... and has anyone tried/ is using his trading
software..??

Now although am just starting out on the trading journey,, it is
something i feel i am ment to do, (dont ask me why) no one has lead me to
this place/ no mentor or friend etc... which is why it seems natural.

now that said, how did the rest of you get into trading?. Appologies to
those who will read this and say. "what the hell has that got to do with
anything"

     All the best..... J.S.D
