My experience was nearly exactly like the response you got from Alex
Matulich. I followed the same path he did although I have not had
time to go back and finish all the tweaks. Microsoft is getting more
brazen in adding their trash to the service packs. Trash like
reinstalling Messenger and that stinking balloon that says YOUR
COMPUTER MIGHT BE AT RISK AUTOMATIC UPDATES ARE TURNED OFF. Wow,
isn't that big news. I wonder who they thought turned it off.

This is off topic, but hoping someone can offer advice from their
experience. Wondering if anyone has upgraded their OS from XP service pack 1
to SP2. If so, did the upgrade go smoothly (sorry, but have been bitten by
MS upgrades before), and did you notice any performance benefits / hits? -
real security benefits? Would you do it again if you were running SP1?
If you haven't upgraded, what are your primary concerns / reasons?
