Be careful when buying Matrox G450 MMS quad cards.
FYI Bill Gates has built into winXPpro a ten monitor limit.
9X media has a workaround- Matrox won't do jack to help you-
they told me to "call Microsoft and ask them to write a program for you"
Yeah, right.
HOWEVER: COLORGRAPHIC corp
877-943-3843 - they have written a driver for the xentera cards-
Which also fit into my motherboard's pciX slots.
They have an 4x4 card as well (8 monitors- but only 4 can be DVI- other 4
not)
so I bought the xentera quad (4of them) (can run 4 DVI's or other)
Call Colorgraphics tech support at: 770.455.3921 or sales and discuss the
difference with them. they will be happy to discuss the above with you. ( I
have no kickback/marketing agreement with Colorgraphics B.T.W.)
I am just very happy here.
I run 4 Xentera( colorgraphic) quad cards- They have both Multiscreen &
Multihead mode
(for one big desktop- or several separate desktops- for use with differing
resolution settings and
monitor manufacturers.)
I run 16 DVI monitors. and I am a very happy camper- But went through misery
with Matrox.
I cannot run any more that 16 monitors. If you want 10 or less, I guess you
could go with the Matrox-
but I just wanted to alert you to this in case you ever wish to run more
than 10!!
Best,
Marc Miller
